Herbs add wonderful flavors to dishes, turn bland recipes into fabulous entrees. Mmmm. Just think what food would taste like without a dash of herbs! Using herbs to flavor foods is especially true if you are on a restricted low fat, low sodium diet. Herbs will be your dietary friend! In contrast to spices, which come from the stem, root, or the seed of a plant, the many herbs we use come from the leafy green part of a plant. They can be used fresh, dried, or as essential oils. I always suggest using doTERRA essential oils because they are pure and natural.

Beyond adding that just right flavor to foods, herbs have several health and wellness benefits. For example, research shows that rosemary has both antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Antioxidants help clean our bodies of harmful toxins. Rosemary has also been shown to promote brain health and has an antidepressant effect. Rosemary may also provide some sun protection for sensitive skin.

In looking for ways to improve our health and wellness, I always look first to nature. For me and my family, using herb essential oils is living and healing naturally.
